First photos of my Gigabeat F40
Here goes the first round of photos. Review and more details to follow tomorrow.

Notice the extrusion in the back. That is due to the extra space required for the 40/60GB models. The F20 will not have these extra 3 millimeters. This will be all gone when Toshiba introduces perpendicular recording on the F41. (Who knows when that one will make it here to the states though...)

Ok, off to be social with my wife for a bit... and charge this baby!

Hey there, got my black F20 last night. Only had time to charge but first impressions are amazing.
Solid build, light, very responsive interface, unbelievable screen. Hope to have a thourough review tomorrow.

Can you create playlists "on the go" with the player, or do you have to create them with the gigabeat room software and them import them onto the player?

Hay I have the same model but my gigabeat didn't come with that cool controler. Should I email TOSHIBA and tell them?

I recently got a 10 GB blue gigabeat and its quite cool but if you have the volume on full the battery goes down VERY fast, but if its a mid range it lasts for about 17 hours so thats kool

Both me and my brother aquired a F40 at the same time, I have absolutly no complaints about the product. My brother however was keeping the player in his pocket (As I do) and he bent over to grab something at work and the player squezzed up against a lighter he had in his pocket and cracked the screen, being a LCD screen, it is rendered compleatly useless.
I work with mine all of the time for 5 months now with no problems... but a constant paranoia of having nothing else in my pocket with it. - Fri May 05, 08:46:00 AM 2006
