"Hidden" Tips and Tricks for your Gigabeat...

Decided to bump this post for all new gigabeat owners.

I recenlty posted in the forum that the manual indeed does list the "Slide left to right" and "Slide bottom to top" quick navigation trick. Well I was wrong, and I realized that I found out about this trick way back in January when I first saw the Gigabeat at CES in Las Vegas. One of the guys in the Toshiba booth showed me how to use the Gigabeat.

So what is this slide left and slide to the top all about?

While looking at the "Now Playing" screen on your Gigabeat you can slide your finger with firm pressure from the BOTTOM of the cross to the TOP. You will notice that this takes you into the Main Menu. The is an excellent and for some reason not documented way to quickly navigate to the main menu without having to use the power button.

Once you make it into the Main Menu you can quickly get back to the Play Now screen, no matter where in the Main Menu system your are, by firmly sliding you finger from the LEFT to the RIGHT on the cross.

If you are on the Play Now screen you can slide from the RIGHT to the LEFT and you will get the list of songs on the current Album or Playlist.

Thanks Nate for the tip and also for pointing out my problem with lefts and rights :)

If you guys have found some more Tips and Tricks that makes your use of the Gigabeat easier please post them in the forum. I have created a Tips and Tricks tread in the forum.

If you slide from the top to the bottom, it goes to the setup screen. Not all that helpful but it's good to know.

I *knew* there had to be an easy way to exit the main menu screen... I'd been using the play/pause button on the in-line remote :-P. This is great to know, seriously up's the functionality of my player! Thanks!
