More movies for your Gigabeat S Series!
Guba.com just scored a deal with Warner Brothers'.
"Guba will offer two services to users. View-On-Demand (VOD) is priced from $1.79 to $2.99 and affords the user a 24 hour rental. Download-To-Own (DTO) will range from $9.99 to $19.99 for newer titles and allows unlimited viewing on 2 computers and 1 portable device, while allowing a single DVD burn for backup. The service will play content through Windows Media Player on a 640X480 screen. Downloads are progressive and will run up to 1.3MB/second."
I have yet to try this with my Gigabeat S30, but I will when I get home tonight. Unfortunately it seems like only the premium videos are available in WMV format. The user's uploaded videos, think youtube.com and vids.myspace.com, are only available in MP4 format.
Either way Warner Bros has a huge library of good movies such as The Matrix trilogy, Harry Potter, Batman, etc.
The price is kind of steep though... I wouldn't spend full DVD price for a downloadable movie, and renting for one day should not be more than 99 cents.Full article on Guba and Warner Bros at TechCrunch.com

Some videos are wmv, most are mov though, not a bad service for the free vids although prices are too high for premium.
