Gigabeat U - A new player from Toshiba

So it has been pretty quiet from Toshiba since the launch of the Zune player... Yeah I have to admit that I did think that Toshiba would give up on their own line of Gigabeat's now that they were building the Zune for Microsoft.
Well turns out that they launched a new Gigabeat. The Gigabeat U player has some exciting features:
- High-Quality Sound
A lot of tech talk here, but it seems like Toshiba is using some new technology called DCTSC ( Direct Charge transfer Switched Capacitor). Should produce a clearer sound. - Pairing
Listing to the music that your buddy is playing by tuning into his frequency. This is kinda cool, and could be more useful then the Zune sharing feature (I'm thinking this will be part of a firmware upgrade to the Zune). More "social" I think. - Direct recording
Not sure if this is correct translation, but it seems to me that you can connect to your stereo and record to your Gigabeat through the AV cable. This would be a first I believe? - A-B repeat
This sounds like support for audio books. It will let you playback at a certain point in a file. - EQ
Custom EQ - Specs
- 20hrs playback
- WMA (Windows Media (R) Audio) MP3 (MPEG-1 Audio Layer3) WAV (PCM)
- 1/2GB storage
- JPEG
- 1.1 Type color organic EL display (* 8) (96×96 dot, 65,536 colors) Screen
- Width 36.2mm× height 76.5mm× depth 10.9mm

Is toshiba actually going to produce little needed accessories for this player, such as A FREAKING CAR CHARGER?

If they plan to neglect it like the S,I recommend they rename it the FU series

After experiencing the total lack of customer service and of taking care of the obvious mistakes they made when producing the S series, I am never going to buy a Toshiba product again.
Maybe someone should help them look up 'lifetime value'... - Tue Apr 03, 02:25:00 PM 2007

A-B Repeat is like on DVD players. You pick two points and it plays between them.
